“Repatriation of Internally Displaced Person”

Established in 1960, Indo-Global Social Service Society (IGSSS) is an Indian development support organization that works with a vision to empower the poor and marginalized sections of society which established a focused Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) team in the year 2010 and is an active member of Sphere India. 

IGSSS recently concluded its RIDE-B project in the states of Tripura and Mizoram (Northeast) in partnership with European Union Human Rights Fund. RIDE-B was designed to protect the basic rights of education, food, health and livelihood of the internally displaced people in the states of North East.

“Strengthening Local Response Networks for Disaster Risk Management Project”

PCI is a global non-governmental, non-profit organization based in San Diego, California (USA), with active programs in Africa, Asia and the Americas. PCI India with its main focus on health and humanitarian issues has been a prominent member of Sphere India.

One of the projects that PCI is currently implementing is “Strengthening Local Response Networks for Disaster Risk Management Project” in 5 states of India: Uttarakhand, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Orissa and Bihar. The objective of the project is to facilitate building of positive linkages between the stakeholders at the local/community level and strengthen their capacity building for disaster management. The goal of the project is also to actively engage with Academia on research, volunteerism and curriculum development on DRR and with Corporate on its own emergency planning, creation of emergency response unit and generation of funds for Disaster Response as part of their obligation under Corporate Social Responsibility.
