Sphere India Core Commitments
- To develop platforms and processes for Inter Agency Collaboration based on agreed principles at all levels (National, States, Districts and Communities) in India.
- All possible steps (Preventive Response and Advocacy) are taken to prevent Human suffering arising out of natural calamity or conflict situation in India.
- The overall Humanitarian Need emerging due to a natural calamity or conflict situation is assessed and met with the collaborative efforts of all stakeholders (Government and Non Government) as per the agreed process for Unified Response.
- Develop systems and processes for enhancing quality and accountability of Humanitarian action in India as listed below:
- Inter Agency Coordination for Unified Response action during emergencies and preparedness for emergencies.
- Inter Agency Training and Capacity building process to improve the speed, quality, and effectiveness of the humanitarian community in saving lives, improving welfare, and protecting the rights of people in emergency situations.
- Inter Agency information, knowledge and learning management process for sharing information, collating and developing knowledge, documenting good practices, collating agency/sectoral learning and building consensus on approaches wherever appropriate.
- Inter Agency process for promoting other Quality and Accountability initiatives HAP, INEE, LEGS etc in India.
- Inter Agency process for Collaborative Advocacy on Humanitarian Issues in India.
- Inter Agency process for promoting Peace and Harmony in India
